The FIRST Program at CaRES Helps Caregivers Experiencing a Licensing Investigation

Experiencing an investigation (licensing or CPS) can be very stressful for caregivers, but CaRES is available to lend a listening ear and explain the investigation process through the Foster Intervention and Retention Support Team (FIRST) program.

If you are working with a caregiver who is navigating an investigation, be sure to tell them about FIRST and share the publications linked below. The CaRES website has a whole section devoted to the FIRST program and is rich with resources and support, too.

If you have any follow-up questions or feedback, please contact Caregiver Retention and Support Program Manager Holly Luna at holly.luna@dcyf.wa.gov or 360-870-1423.
